- An increased minimum wage.
- I work for £6.90 an hour. That's a pathetic sum that doesn't meet the cost of basic amenities. There's always the *slightly* higher London living wage which allows you to survive, just. But fucking hell, I don't want people to merely SURVIVE, I want them to LIVE. It should be raised to a tenner at least, or ideally twelve.
- A ban on zero hours contracts.
- I work on a zero hours contract. I don't have regular hours and my employer is an exploitative fuck who takes advantage of my labour and the fact that I'm a desperate, vulnerable girl from abroad who needs work. Ban them, and give me a secure contract.
- Scrap tuition fees.
- Further education is a right, and it shouldn't depend on daddy's paycheck to get into university. Unfortunately, right now, it does. My annual salary is a measly £10,500. Fees for my prefered university are £9000 per year. See the dilemma? I'm being punished for being poor and it's not right.
