- guy on a typewriter in front of the met w a sign that said "poem store"
- going to the guggenheim & loving the jenny holzer exhibit as well as the material art exhibit
- imagining calling a friend n saying "bruh you'll never guess what i'm doing. i'm watching colonoscopy footage at the guggenheim"
- amazing curry noodles & cream cheese croquettes at abiko curry, maybe my fave meal this year so far?
- best gelato ever (amarena & lime basil at amorino)
- finally making it to 2 dd classes
- blissfully soaking in art at moma & impulse buying $140+ of art books
- 3 more dd classes
- moulin rouge on broadway w aaron tveit & jojo levesque - incredible set design, amazing leads, great choreography & costumes, all-around visual & auditory feast
- joining a crowd waiting by the stage door for the performers to appear tho aaron did not & the crowd dispersed soon after
- woman in front of me sobbing w happiness over meeting jojo
- bicycle cab cruising down the street blasting in da club by 50 cent & a guy in the backseat vibing n jamming hard
- realizing i love witnessing unabashed expressions of joy in others
- soaking in nighttime city views from the 102nd floor of the empire state building
- going to times square & satisfying the sensory seeker in me
- amidst all the light / color / sound, a reserve of sadness thinking "this is a shrine to late capitalism" & "what cost does this all come at" (really i feel the purest awe w nature & art instead)
- streets full of lingering revelers for mexican independence day
- pink balloon going translucent w neon light as it floated into the sky
- spending $75+ at pink taco on signature pink tacos, popcorn shrimp tacos, & lobster enchiladas
- sitting on a random stoop in jersey eating lobster enchiladas at 2am
- taking a taxi for the 1st time
- drenching myself in art at the met starting w the beautifully immersive & mysterious egyptian wing
- light-filled contemporary wing w huge colorful canvases & finding my new favorite painting that gave me a sense of awe / calm / safety immediately
- sweet & soft impressionist wing w great collection of degas & monet pieces
- speed walking thru glimpses of other exhibits (rococo, medieval, islamic, greek/roman sculpture) like traveling thru time
- being blown away at mercer labs FUCKING HELL I LOVE IMMERSIVE ART
- 4d sound room lying on carpet under dim blue lights & foam walls as noise engulfed the space (water, subway, growling creature, birds, ambient music, thudding bass), feeling relaxed & riled up at once, punching & running at the walls, imagining the annihilation of the one who hurt me, what a great space for breakdown & rebirth
- mirrored rooms full of shifting light & color where the boundaries of the space became unclear & i felt gorgeously disoriented, putting my arms out & feeling like i was floating in the infinite
- wandering around the wtc transit station for a painfully long time trying to figure out the subway system before riding the subway for the 1st time
- realizing that the stick-on library wallpaper at the airbnb had unusual fake book titles like "conquest and mushroom" & "tales of homeopathic gherkin"
