- 1999-2002 - in high school, i never really did anything for the day except eat a ton of chocolate and maybe watch a movie. i think i had a boyfriend one of the years but he went to a different school, so it didn't count.
- 2003 - my first year away for college, and i was homesick! i called my mom really early the morning of and told her i was coming home to spend it with my family. i caltrained down and i don't remember what we did, but i remember being happy.
- 2004 - stuart and i went to a friend of his's house in parkmerced and had dinner, then watched a really cheesy movie. at the time i had a crush with him, and remember walking back to my building where i was an RA arm in arm. it was very sweet.
- 2005 - brandon and i went to see interpol play, which was also very sweet since it was one of my favorite bands. i remember wearing these horrid pink shoes (cute style, bad on the feet) and my black layered tulle dress with the pink trim. i got propositioned on the street by a few homeless men who asked brandon if he didn't mind them "taking me out for a quick fuck." priceless. we ended up taking a cab back to his place because my feet hurt so bad.
- 2006 - i honestly don't remember; i think brandon and i boycotted the actual day and did something else the weekend before. i did the table decorations that week for the popscene 'my bloody valentine' bash.
- 2007 - i was in school freaking out about my first solo art show on campus. martin emailed me to say he was thinking about me and that he loved me and i couldn't help but feel so much better. other than that, just another day!
- 2008 - i had a financial aid meeting before i went to the pillowfight, so i was in a sour mood by the time i got there. then liz and i got drunk and went to the kills show, where i made out with M like crazy and everyone was in love with each other. i wore my white satin halter dress with black polka dots, and was a half hour late for work the next morning...
- 2009 - this year was the year the holiday was on a saturday, so dee and i decided to be each other's valentines. i slept in before we tried to go to jeeti's art show at space. we met her at hemlock for a quick hug session before we went to dee's friend's party near my house. we had a mega dance party in the living room and ate fancy chocolate before heading to orphan andy's at the perfect time before the bar crowd came. i wore a dress with this crazy feather headband i got from topshop in england, which was a hit.
- 2010 - i worked the day of and waited for zach to get off work. we had a romantic dinner of jack in the box before staying in and cuddling to the daily show.
