• "strange pilgrims," by gabriel garcia marquez. i am in love with his words. obsessed, to the max. (jan 15)
• "a long way down," by nick hornby. he is so talented at making the reader feel at home with the characters, you begin to wish they were real. (jan 17)
• "five people you meet in heaven," by mitch albom. i couldn't even process what i read after i finished this book, and promptly cried myself to sleep - not solely out of despair, or hurt, or happiness, or tragedy, or love, but a combination of both. (jan 24)
• "why moms are weird," by pamela ribon. hilarious and yet so sadly true to our own lives. (june 28)
• "my french whore," by gene wilder. prose is a bit elementary and the plot has two competing themes, but the ending more than makes up for it. (july 17)
