- water, for boiling
- 6 roma tomatoes
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp water
- 1 tsp kelp powder
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- pierce the skin of each tomato and dunk them into boiling water in a pot waiting until the skin starts to peel off - then fish the tomatoes and dunk them into ice water
- create the marinade with: soy sauce, sesame oil, water, kelp powder, and liquid smoke
- peel the skins off the tomatoes & cut them in half lengthwise, trimming away the seeds - coat them in the marinade and refrigerate for 30'
