- very conservative dress
- everyone is so sexy. i mean so sexy. but honestly women’s fashion is blah
- men’s fashion is all like boring but incredibly chic
- all the food is so tasty. it is much harder to find a bad meal than a good meal
- cocktails at every hour of the day. and much stronger pours
- less salty food, less sugary food
- no rush to pay. no rush at all. everything is at a slower, gentler pace
- almost everyone gardens at least a bit
- kind. everyone is so kind and patient
- dinner much later

- house wine is delicious. everyone was right
- less air conditioning
- they are always very polite. a lot of grazzes and pregos
- i truly cannot get over how delicious the food was
- almost always have salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil at the table that you are encouraged to use
- and the olive oil is the best olive oil you’ve ever had !
- less diability accommodations
- no ice with water. and you have to order water separately always. and it’s almost always bottled
- smaller grocery stores
- much more accommodating to pedestrians and bikers
- food is cheaper
- gum 0.17 euros
- bottled water 0.59 euros
- bidets everywhere
- fast walkers on the sidewalks
- talk on the phone on speaker at restaurants
- play tiktok videos loud in public
- feeding pigeons is illegal
- colorful buildings
- olive garden’s decor is surprisingly accurate
- caps on bottles don’t fully detach. love
- okay food comparisons, who wins
- pasta- italy by a LANDSLIDE omfg. America doesnt know what pasta is. or how to make sauce so creamy dreamy perfection
- pizza- italy again. but the best pizza places in america can compare in my opinion. not a large margin, but definitely a margin. but they are very different.
- bread- america by a landslide. their bread was saltless and flavorless. without oil and vinegar it’s *almost* inedible. my opinion
- gelato- so much better in italy !!! yummier and creamier than any ice cream. i want a gelato machine NOW
- cocktails- america tastier but italy cheaper and more bang for yr buck
- wine- italy italy Italy. american wines could never. a cheap 3 euro glass is better than any 14 dollar glass in the us
- tiramisu- okay i truly truly thought i HATED tiramusu. truly i did. but tiramusu in Italy ? completely changed my mind. absolutely phenomenal
- fruit- okay just basing this off the blueberries i had. they were so crisp and delicious and sweet and big
- feel so much safe just walking around. more normal people out late as people eat later
- much more smoking. and they almost all had those cigarettes packs with the people dying on them from lung cancer. loved it so cunty
- chips and peanuts are given if only drinks are ordered
- the architecture was so much more beautiful and colorful
- so much more thoughtful about the people who live in the city
- a lot more stuff that was in english than i thought
- people drive like bats out of hell
- gluten free things are everywhere and free
- very minimal explanations on menus. just say like “pasta with tomatos and cheese” or “pasta with wine sauce”
- don’t even say what kind of pasta sometimes
