• limits are a good thing ! too many choices is jam jar
  • interesting thought- when we have too many choices evolutionaryily we may have been programed that having too much indicates too much wealth and not enough sharing ? how we are programmed maybe to care for one another esp when you have excess? i'm not sure
  • another thought- we are more happy when we go to local stores rather than big superstores because there are less choices. and having these fewer options helps so much to actually look at things and not get overwhelmed and buy whatever there. and even though these stores are more expensive, you are more thoughtful with yr choices and typically getting more nutrious food as well. and support people in yr area. and you probably spend the same amount in the rnd because you arent just grabbing
  • jam jars and chocolate experiments showed that more choices lead to more unhappiness and more indecision
  • this applies to soo much
  • caroline wrinkler talked about this with interior design
  • having a wow piece to help u narrow down the choices to give you more space for creativity
  • thinking about this-- i think that's why themed parties are fun. because you are constrained and you have an easier time deciding what to wear and bring
  • this applies to dating as well .... modern romance by aziz ansari talks about this with tinder and dating apps giving people so many options and ultimately being unhappy bc you think there are hundreds of people for them to date. but how do we combat this all in this modern world ??? not download apps? only swipe on 2 people/ week? there's an issue as well with it seems that some people in relationships want more choices bc they think they will be happier. but with these research it would go to show perhaps the person who decides to make it work with one person is the happier one. i want to be able and share this thought with so many people
  • i think seinfeld has an episode on this dont quote me
  • w more choices, more work to compare ideas n more pressure to pick the best one
  • goes for music for me personally too-- if i have a playlist i'm listening to rather than just choosing from anything, then i have fewer choices and i'm happier with my pics and i get to know the songs well 2
  • also goes for clutter and cleaning duh. but why we don't like things to be everywhere. yr eyes can't take a break and yr mind can't either to choose what to do
