- bananas are not a typical european fruit; they became popular with globalization and diet culture, which promotes bananas everywhere as a "healthy fruit." i’m not a huge fan of bananas, but i started including them in my diet when i became vegan. back then, veganism wasn’t really a trend, and the online vegan community was so small that bananas were used in almost every baking recipe. over time, i started enjoying them more in baked goods rather than eating them raw, aka the "unprocessed way".
- since i’ve been living with my brother, one day he mentioned that he tried a banana, liked it, and wanted to eat more. so, we bought a whole bunch of bananas... which are still sitting on the counter, staring at us as we ignore them (lol).
- and since we agreed on a pact not to waste food while living together, we collected some banana recipes from pinterest. we plan to try them out so the bananas don’t go bad.
- rotten bananas are apparently "a thing" in the food community — they say the browner they are, the sweeter they taste. but i’m not willing to test my luck or risk food poisoning for the sake of flavor. even if the bananas are slightly tart, we’ll make it work.
