Even after playing the piano for over 10 years, I rarely realize that I think with what I call a “musician’s mind”. However, when I do, I realize how much one instrument has enriched my life. A “musician’s mind” is very different from a “non-musician’s mind”, though those who do not play an instrument would never be able to tell. Throughout the past 10 years and 3 months, each day of my life has been affected by skills and experiences I have had the privilege of possessing through music. Through playing the piano, I have learned to think of the world with a different point of view. For example, having a “musician’s mind” affects the way that I solve math problems. Though most people would view the two activities in completely different ways, I think of math problems in the same way that I think while playing the notes on a sheet of music. While playing music, one mu... sep 16 2012 ∞

may 29 2012 + Have you ever noticed how listening to your favorite song can improve your mood? Studies have shown that listening to music can also improve your brain power. Music can do many great things, including improving test scores, cutting learning time of a certain concept in half, and increasing creativity and clarity of the mind. Research done at the the University of California, Irvine, has even shown that those who sing frequently or play a musical instrument have an IQ that is a minimum of 9 points higher. Music in many forms can improve the brain power of humans at any age. For example, after an experiment conducted at Northwestern University, it has been proven that listening to music increases neuron usage. mar 25 2012 + You know I always write to you when something big is going on, haha. I figured I would give you this when you are in a good mood, so here you go Well, I will try to make it short & sweet. I keep finding prom dresses that I like…. Not just like, I like them more than the one I bought. Not a lot of people are buying dresses like the one that I bought, & I refuse to be jealous all night. This isn’t a little, petty thing. So a few days ago, I took the initiative to call the Uniontown Prom Shoppe from school during video productions. I talked to the manager, & she asked for my name. She told me the dress had already come in, then asked what the reason for my call was. I told her the truth, which is that I keep finding more dresses that I like, & that the one that I bought isn’t like what everyone else is getting this year. So I asked her if they could do store credit, as in “switch ... mar 4 2012 ∞

English 11 November 2011 The Scarlet Letter Comparison Essay Often, stories written about similar topics can possess writing mechanics which compare in quite a few ways . These aspects help readers to develop a better understanding of the story and its characters. Also, these similar properties help to develop conflicts, deeper meanings, and lessons meant to be taught by the story. For example, “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne is an American Romantic novel which focuses greatly on sin and its consequences. A typical Romantic story, “The Scarlet Letter” also focuses much on symbolism and an author's purpose which is developed by those symbols. “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne can be compared to “The Woman Caught in Adultery”, a biblical parable, and “A Double Standard”, by Frances E. W. Harper, because of their similar theme... nov 16 2011 ∞

Readers listen in as Benetto describes his life story, and reveals nostalgic details of his life changing past. As he tells his tale to the narrator on that fateful day in the bleachers of a Little League field, it is easy to see that his experiences greatly contribute to the development of a very different character at the end of the novel. For example, Chick's conflicts change throughout the story. He goes from the simple, everyday conflicts of a child, to troublesome adult conficts such as alcohol abuse and relationship problems. nov 3 2011 + Greek Era Article (B.C.) What's the newest proposal of chemistry in today's word? The atom. Democritus is back with more ideas in the field of chemistry, announced just yesterday in Abdera, Thrace, Greece. He has reasoned that the most minimal, indestructible particle of matter is the atom. He has created a mental image of it, and has proposed the fact that it is a solid amount of matter which reacts mechanically with others just like it. Democritus also predicts that further research will be carried out on this matter in the future. Discoveries from 1800-1900 Since it has recently been discovered by Ernest Rutherford that radiation contains alpha, beta, and gamma rays, our readers have requested a sort of walk down the memory lane of atomic discoveries until this point. If you are old enough, you may remember when John Dalton proposed his atomic theory, in 1803. He had said that elements ... nov 3 2011 ∞
