• It's impossible to be yourself. This seems to be the mantra for the 21st century, but has anyone ever successfully been 100% authentically themselves without any recriminations? Only the most boring, conventional people, I'd wager.
  • Life is too short for:
    • uncomfortable clothes/shoes
    • shaving your legs/armpits/anything
    • giving a fuck about your job
    • Obligation Friends
    • eating salad
  • daydreaming is great. Do it as often as you can. I also like to spend time reviewing the content of a book/movie/TV show I just consumed.
  • plants die. Most of the plants you plant will die. There's nothing you can do about this.
  • Being fat is not the worst thing that can happen to you.
  • You don't just automatically get less broken as you get older. You need to work on yourself and your issues or else they'll just hang around. I'm less anxious than I used to be, but only because I've worked really hard and been really mindful. I still have meltdowns sometimes and freak out with strangers. Don't be complacent. Keep working.
  • You won't finish most things you start, but do start them.
  • You can lose anything online. Anything. your blog, your instagram, your pinterest. Even this, I guess. I lost all my Sims and I cried hysterically and grieved for months. It's actually fucking hard.
  • Making plans is a pale substitute for actually doing things.
  • If you need to ask "do I need to go to the toilet?", just go.
  • Pick your battles. I know it's a cliche, but I'm so much happier when I let things go and don't waste energy on things I can't change, especially other peoples' opinions.
  • I've written 185 lists with the word 'things' in the title.
  • if you lend something to someone, don't expect to get it back.
  • if someone is mean to you, it has nothing to do with you. It usually means they have issues, or are a crazy psycho-bitch.
