- Do not cold drinks with meals. Tea (e.g. green) is suitable, but not too much, and preferably half an hour before the meal.

- Meal proportions 3/4 vegetables to 1/4 meat. 
- Use small serving bowls and eat with chopsticks. 
- Eat rice, and ensure to mix it less processed versions such as brown, black or red rice.

- Eat fish with healthy oils every day. 
- Choose Asian snacks such as seaweed snacks, nuts, dried fruit and seeds. 
- Eat according to the seasons: warming foods in winter and cooling foods in summer. 
- Minimise drinking of cow's milk and do not mix it with other foods. Replace it with other types, e.g. almond, coconut, rice or soy. 
- Ensure that digestion is regular and seek treatment if it is not.
