- be patient!

    - drink lots of water

    - take Omega 3s

        - e.g. salmon, avocado, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, mangoes, eggs, spinach, sweet potatoes

    - wash your hair as little as possible; use dry shampoo instead. This helps prevent oily scalp.

    - a few hours before washing your hair, apply coconut oil to approx. the bottom third of your hair. Make sure it is:

        - cold-pressed, extra virgin

    - or try olive oil, honey, mayonnaise, or an egg mask before washing.

    - when washing your hair, only apply shampoo to your roots.

        - try using conditioner only.

        - try using home remedies such as baking soda followed by apple cider vinegar.

    - when applying conditioner, apply it to the bottom two-thirds only.

    - don't ever brush your hair when wet.

    - use a hairbrush with plain bristles, not the ones with little balls on the end.

        - a wide-tooth comb is also good.

    - don't ever tease your hair.

    - don't use any heat tools: that includes hairdryers!

    - braid your hair before going to bed at night.

    - use a pillowcase made out of soft fabric such as satin to prevent snags and tangling.

    - if you notice any split ends, trim the ends to prevent them from getting worse.

    - when going swimming, use a swimming cap or don't let your head go underwater. If you get chlorine on your hair, wash it as soon as possible.
