- the rustling of the tall trees outside the kitchen window
- so much natural light!
- a small space is easy to keep clean
- we managed to fit all our important furniture in a way that is actually pretty and makes me happy
- our new bedsheets
- the extremely hot water in our shower which comes on so FAST
- the sunsets outside the front door, over the church car park
- the weird little corner near the shared laundry with the plants and the shelves and the stairs to the second floor
- it's so safe here. it's SO safe here.
- mostly quiet? some benign noise during the day but never people yelling, screaming, swearing, arguing etc.
- the weird little fruit shop that's always selling melons for 79c
- the beautiful shared bike/pedestrian paths all through the neighbourhood: i have never had such great running trails right near me before
- only having to worry about me and b. not having to monitor for other people's feelings all the time. open and frank discussions about chores, etc. without having to involve any other parties.
- the FLY SCREENS!!! i can have FRESH AIR IN THE HOUSE WITH WINDOWS OPEN without being EATEN ALIVE BY MOSQUITOES
- it gets chilly but the floors don't get super cold or warm
- room on the counters for all our important appliances despite the overall unit being so small
- i know that doing the dishes will definitely lose its romantic charm but right now i'm really enjoying it, especially since we keep on top of it and don't seem to have a problem splitting it evenly
- our clear bathroom counter
- smiling at the other friendly people who live here but thus far not having had to actually talk to any of them
- no one knows where we live except for people we have told. people we have told are the only ones who know. we have control over our own space.
- our new bathmat and how well it matches the space
- having a CLEAR BATHROOM COUNTER
- minimalism everywhere, everything having a home and a place
- our tiny dining table with our little candles. the ritual of meals together is so much more intense here. we eat dinner together even if everything else is separate
