- getting a present from my aunt, i don't know how she does it but she never misses
- how our light-up tree topper stopped working so my mom made an angel out of paper and put john lithgow's face on it
- paper john lithgow finally got too beat up to reuse so last year she made a biblically accurate angel tree topper
- melodramatic and/or ominous carols ('god rest ye merry gentlemen,' 'carol of the bells,' etc)
- also 'last christmas' for some reason
- the christmas ornaments on my tree that are older than i am (including one from my great-grandparents' christmas tree from the same year my late grandmother was born)
- warm christmas lights (fuck the LED blue ones)
