august
- musette and drums, cocteau twins
- all i want to listen to, forever
july
- invincible shield, judas priest
- this was always on one of the vevo channels on the hotel roku, lmao. like at any given time there was a 90% chance of this song being on. no complaints though
- stuttering, fefe dobson
- the thing about fefe dobson is that i will always love her and will always be a little salty that avril got the recognition that (imo) fefe deserved way more
may
- gimme shelter, rhett shull feat. zach person & suzy jones
- solid cover, but one of those where you listen to a song not knowing who any of the people are and then go 'oh *that's* the guy whose song this is and the other two are just the feature? ok.....'
- like no offense to rhett shull. i don't know who that is. i'm sure he's very skilled. but i spent the whole song kinda going "so is a third person gonna show up orrrrrrr"
- my computer, cadence weapon
- so i always saw rollie on the computer, he was always on the computer he's just like me fr
- it was a trial to pick my favorite from this album, rollie really made a whole fuckin album about being extremely online. and the perils
- lexicon, cadence weapon
- so i didn't pick just one. this song fucking goes hard
- tortured, kid cudi
- forever the best artist for when you wanna dance but also you have clinical depression
- saint joe on the school bus, marcy playground
- this band did not deserve to be a one hit wonder
- meet the grahams, kendrick lamar
- you know you've made it as a hater when your phone blows up every time kendrick drops another drake diss
april
- orca, wintersleep
- this whole album is a desert island album for me but this song is just. YEAH
- love the way it just builds and builds. like a tidal wave crashing on harbors, one could say. like a perfect storm swallowing over
- future primitive, sum 41
- god i almost hate to say it but this whole album is my top of the year so far. fuckin banger with TWENTY songs and ZERO skips, and this is the standout track for me
- that fuckin. the pennywise vibes, the lagwagon vibes, the offspring vibes, this song came out in 2024 and yet it somehow IS my favorite song from the tony hawk pro skater 2 soundtrack and i DO get sad and disappointed every time the level ends and i have to stop listening and also i have to stop being bucky lasek
- the ENDING the there's nothing no sound hits so HARD i'm fuckin. look i'm gonna be real i'm gonna write this up when i start doing my aoty ranking and it's gonna get embarrassing real fast when i start actually digging into the nostalgia
- backslider, toadies
- rubberneck is always on constant rotation for me and this is the standout track for me this time around
- i was thinkin' of all the things my daddy told me
- of sin and salvation and manhood and dignity
- wait., vowws (feat. chelsea wolfe)
- SO good but once again i have been introduced to something cool because my mom is like on a system of a down mailing list or something
- wait / i'm changing my shape
march
- anything, anything, dramarama
- no idea why this has been in my head for 48 hours straight but i'm not mad
- is something wrong with me, something wrong with you?
- i really wish I knew
- old man crenshaw, best self
february
- hiss, megan thee stallion
- if you have ever heard my ted talk about hating drake. well this track was made for me. absolutely shrieking
- also the megan / megan's law line??? rip
january
- one and only, timbaland feat. fall out boy
- they didn't need to go this hard but damn i'm glad they did
- everything is simple, widowspeak
- this album is new to me (as is the band). k had it playing when we arrived at her place after a few absolutely hellish days and i felt so much stress leave my body upon walking in. i think this was the song playing when we made it in but i'm not sure -- either way, it's my favorite.
