  • upgrading a tool: you won't have it for the rest of that day and the whole next day! (careful with watering can upgrade before sprinklers!)
  • unwatered plants don't die, they just don't grow for that day
  • items lost at death can be bought back at the adventurer's guild
  • don't remove any hay before building silos (they're cheap!)
    • always leave a bit of grass for it to grow back
    • grass disappears in winter, so you should prepare for the winter before winter
    • 3 silos is enough to feed all animals in 1 deluxe coop and 1 deluxe barn for 1 winter
  • every coop/barn needs 1 heater for winter
  • friendship: you can give a gift to a person twice a week (see checkmarks in town menu). friendship reduces after a while if you don't talk to them.
    • don't forget about universal likes
  • marriage: you need 1 house upgrade and the bridge to the eastern beach (required 300 wood), then during a rainy day you can buy from the old mariner there, as long as you have 10 hearts of friendship with someone (after giving a bouqet at 8 hearts)
  • travelling trader: every friday and sunday during daytime. buy:
    • rare seeds
    • red cabbage (for bundle)
    • battery packs
  • best way to get wood: chop the trees in the wilderness south of the farm (they grow back automatically and quickly!) or anywhere else outside the farm
    • trees don't grow in winter
  • the secret woods are a thing, and there's a southern section
  • buildings can be moved and painted (not possible with all) for free and instantly
  • don't sell:
    • bug meat (for bait)
    • quartz (throw it into the furnace, keep it)
    • slime (for slime farm?)
    • sap (for fertilizer)
    • fish (incl. from traps) (for good fertilizer)
  • making clothing from cloth is a thing (sewing machine)
  • for the grange display: 9 items of at least 6 different categories (incl. minerals!). points are based on sell value (and quality).
    • you get to keep them. (collect them after being judged)
    • to get more star points at the festival: always bet 60% of your points on green at the wheel
  • fish pond: best fish blobfish (from deep-sea adventure at night market)
    • signs can be put on fish pond to show current fish
  • best animals: pigs > golden chicken > void chicken > sheep > cow > goat
    • chicken - large egg 95g, mayonnaise 190g (daily) = 190/day
    • void chicken - egg 65g, mayonnaise 275g (daily) = 275/day
    • golden chicken - egg 500g = 500/day
    • duck - egg 95g, feather 250g - mayonnaise 375g (every 2 days) = 187/day
    • rabbit - wool 340g, foot 565g - cloth 470g (every 4 days) = 117/day
    • dinosaur - egg 350g - mayonnaise 800g (every 7 days) = 114/day
    • cow - large milk 190g - cheese 230g (daily) = 230/day

  • pigs need to be let outside to dig up a truffle, which need to picked up. they products truffles on floor/paths, but not debris. they don't produce in rain/winter. truffles disappear on season-change, but not during the night.
    • max friendship pigs have a 66% chance of finding an extra truffle. max happiness pigs produce ~3 truffles a day.
  • don't forget that you can craft grass starters from fiber
    • planting grass starters on the very last day of winter makes it spread like crazy the next day
  • fences can be placed on grass so that animals can't eat that spot (for regrowing)
  • lightning rod placement does not matter (as long as it's on the farm). multiple rods can be hit in a day. stay up late to increase chances.
  • krobus sells quality sprinklers every friday for 10,000g (only one each friday), so don't craft them
  • spring seed choices:
    • spring 1-7: potatoes
    • spring 7-12: garlic
    • spring 13-: strawberries
    • at egg festival (spring 13) we can buy strawberry seeds for 100g each. (they're the best spring crop except carrots which are also special). this means we want to make as much money as possible until spring 12, and make sure the fields are free (aka no continuously-producing crops).
    • also buy strawberry seeds for next year if there is money left over
  • best crops for greenhouse: (assuming tiller+artisan)
    • 1. sweet gem berry (104g/d) from rare seeds (12 harvests / year)
    • 2. ancient fruit (76g/d) from ancient seeds (4 harvests / year)
    • 3. pineapple (45g/d) (14 harvests / year)
    • 4. blueberries (43g/d) from pierre in summer (25 harvests / year)
    • 5. starfruit (41g/d) from oasis or travelling cart (8 harvests / year)
      • (more than blueberries with quality fertilizer on both)
    • 6. strawberries (36g/d) from egg festival (spring 13) (26 harvests / year)
  • casks only work in the cellar
  • the quality of an item before putting it into a jar/keg has no effect, so start with putting the normal quality items in first
  • don't give first dino egg to museum, hatch it!
  • make coffee to walk faster (from coffee beans, which can be bought from the travelling trader)
  • save up your pearl (from night market's mermaid performance) until you can buy the pretty bed in the desert with it
