curling: video
- 1: prep:
- use leave-in conditioner after washing to protect the hair
- blow dry cream + blow drying (make hair as smooth as possible, the smoother it is the longer the curls will hold)
- use heat protection with hold
- 2: curling:
- hold the curling iron upside down when curling and start with the top of your hair when wrapping it around (this gives the top hair the strength it needs to hold up the rest) see 8:50 + 9:00
- always do curls away from your face (= iron always goes 'behind' your hair) see 12:20
- do not pull the iron, let the hair fall out
- after curling the curls should be slightly tighter than you want them to be (because they loosen as the hair cools down)
- to get tighter curls: use a thinner iron, curl smaller sections of hair, keep iron on longer
- keep your hair dry, stay out of humid environments
- when showering without hair washing: use a shower cap with terry cloth lining on the insine (otherwise the humidity ruins the curls)
