- let hair go unwashed for a few days
- put hair oil on hair 30 minutes before bleaching
- only use plastic (not metal) things to mix and apply bleach
- start at the bottom back and work yourself to the front (bottom/back has darker and courser hair, so it needs a bit more time, you give it that time like this)
- if there is more than a bit of growth, do the most part first and only then the very edge at the skin
- do not overlap to the already-blonde part more than a bit
- leave according to instructions, check color by scraping away bleach on one spot
- tingling is normal, painful burning is not
