- the P. family, the tall, charming dad and his two adorable little kids
- the man who was so happy I told him to have a lovely day, because he had just been cleared of cancer and it really was a lovely day
- the woman from London who had just the best energy ever. we talked about library fines and I gave her a sneaky buy one get one half price and she was super grateful. she walked by as I was closing and called "have a lovely evening!"
- the pharmacist who only wanted the most pristine copies of the books she was buying.
- the two Jamaican ladies who gave me a little souvenir keyring for going "above and beyond" after I gave them some of the bunting we had in store, which one of them wanted for her classroom in Jamaica. she asked my name so she could tell her students about me.
- C, who told me how much she has loved all of my recommendations and said that I got her back into reading. her husband will sometimes say, "do you realise you've not spoken to me all night?" because she's now reading so much, and she wakes up early to read before work. she tweeted the store about me because she wanted my manager to know.
- the lawyer who offered me a placement in the firm he's a partner in (I think he's the same man from boxing day).
- the lady who came back and told me how much she and her friend loved The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock which I recommended to her
- the blond guy who speaks in queen's English and always buys a history book
- the 40-ish year old guy who shuns technology and pretty much any book written post-1900
- the customer who tweeted the store, thanking me for my book recommendation (this has now happened twice! update: three times)
- a poet who said he would try to get a book sent to me
- the father, mother and daughter on boxing day (we talked about QI, water bottles, and phone cases)
- another vicar who I had a similarly pleasant conversation with as the second
- the 80 year old bodybuilder from my previous job
- the guy who looked like Jaime Lannister
- the lady who kept calling me 'treasure'
- the sweet little old lady who kept us late, but I didn't mind
- one of my high school English teachers
- that one actor I like (he's terribly awkward)
- another vicar who I had a long conversation with about church, she was absolutely lovely and reassured me that not knowing all the correct terminology doesn't really matter
- the vicar who was the only person there when I sneezed and grinned as he said, "bless you."
- the 74 year old lady who called me gorgeous and ranted about technology
- a mum and her son and daughter with very French names
